My son is 4 months old and up until a couple of weeks ago was a great sleeper. Would go to sleep around 830-9 and not wake up until 8-9 the next morning. He recently starting becoming extremely restless, kicking legs, grabbing face, and moaning all while his eyes are closed and seems to be still sleeping. He will sleep for a couple of hours good, and then start the cycle of sleeping for about 30 min to an hour and then waking up I give him his pacifier or comfort him put him back to sleep and it starts all over again. He also started rolling over in his sleep and lays flat on his face which scares me because of SIDS, so I’m also consitantly rolling him back over. Could this be acid symptoms of acid reflux? He also started chewing on his hands and drooling I checked his gums and didn’t see anything so don’t know if he could be teething too? I am a first time mommy and I am feeling like a bad mom since I don’t know what to do or how to help my little one, please any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

A lot of the behaviour stuff you’re describing at night sounds developmental, I remember going through it with my non-refluxer. If he’s not having reflux symptoms during the day, and it’s only this new night-time development you’re talking about, I would say that reflux doesn’t sound like your problem to me. The drooling and chewing on hands sounds like pre-teething behaviour. You may want to check out some sleep books that offer advice on how to deal with typical developmental night-time challenges. Good luck.

He’ll fall asleep right after he’s done eating and then wake up 45 min later. I did that for a week thinking he needed to get used to it and nothing changed. He sleeps better with just the formula, I don’t understand this at all.

Also our LO is a tummy sleeper also and would wake up if he laid on his back. It takes some getting used to, and it is all about what you are comfortable with.I am also not convinced that this is reflux, but maybe something to talk with your doctor about -
