Ladies,
I’ve recovered from my venting about my pedi gastro visit (previous post). Thanks to those of you who responded. I love this board.
The doc called me today with the results of DD’s blood test. I got a message on my phone, so I couldn’t ask questions. She said Erin’s blood test came back completely normal and that Erin is NOT allergic to peanuts or egg (no antibodies). But then she said something that confused me. She said we “still don’t know whether Erin is allergic to the milk protein.” HUH???? I thought that is why they tested her blood. Maybe I’m confused about how they test for the milk protein allergy? Is it a skin test?
DD is having an upper GI on tuesday, so I’m going to wait until later next week to talk to the doc (after GI results come in). If there is some other conlcusive test regarding the milk allergy, I’m going to ask her to order it.
Does anyone know if a child can be allergic to the milk protein and NOT allergic to egg and peanut proteins? The doc seemed to indicate that most kids have some reaction to all three. (This is me clinging to the hope DD is not allergic to milk so I can focus on reflux only…LOL!).
Thanks!
Shan
