I just wanted to take a moment to share some good news and give a big thank you to all of the posters. I have learned such an enormous amount from this forum…
Anyway, my 11 mo. old daughter has had a bottle aversion sinch she was about a month old. She was diagnosed w/acid reflux and slowly her medicines were upped to the marci dose of prevacid solutabs. We were also seeing a feeding therapist who was sure that my dd had
sensory issues and that there was nothing medical going on – but my gut
always told me otherwise. We recently switched her from Prevacid
solutabs which werent working b/c she wasnt eating consistently enough
for it to be effective.
She is taking the zegerid now and for the first time in
so many months she is actually taking bottles awake, eating purees and
solids, and upping her volume! I am trying not to get my hopes up b/c
it would be a big fall if she were to regress but I cant help but be
over the moon. I really never ever ever thought I would see my baby
eat awake and willingly. In fact, over the weekend my husband walked
in on the tail end of a great, awake feed. I was holding my breath
through the whole thing and when I looked up at my husband tears were
rolling down his cheeks. In fact, tonight he got to give her an awake
feed for the first time in months and he looked like he could just fly!
As I said, I am trying to remember that she can always fall back but
we’ve had so much sadness over these past ten months that I am just
going with the happy for now! Thanks so much to all of you wonderful
moms and dads who support and share info. I think I am going to post
this thanks in another forum so sorry about the double – I am just so
happy at the moment…
