When did you notice your babies reflux for the first time? Meaning how old was baby when you noticed something wasn’t quite right. Crying all the time, not eating well, etc. My little guy is one week and 4 days old and so far he is a dream come true. I keep waiting for it all to end and with both of my other boys I noticed pretty quickly something wasn’t right.
May 1, 2009 at 9:25 pm #62359AnonymousInactivesylvia was desatting in the hospital and they told me her lungs were not developed because she had been under so much stress. they had her on oxygen and when i took her home after 4 days, it was a fight to get her to eat for that first week we had her home.

May 2, 2009 at 7:26 am #62366AnonymousInactiveWe noticed the first night she was home (so day 3)… excessive crying, unable to soothe her, and feeding problems that were starting (not sucking, pulling off, crying), VERY foul gas. When it continued to day 7, we called in a lactation consultant who couldn’t figure it out either.

She never had any problems on breast milk and I am kicking myself now for not trying harder to BF her. I started her on Enfamil Lipil and then went to the Gentlease then the A.R. and nothing helped her at all. Then someone mentioned to me that she might have acid reflux so I did some research on it and she had just about every symptom.

May 11, 2009 at 9:29 am #62506AnonymousInactiveThank you for all your responses. Although some of them are freaking me out. I have always noticed my boys reflux early, but so far other than a few “colicky” days Anthony has been a normal baby. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. After a few months if there are still no signs of reflux I will most definantly post what I did to try to make a difference. Although I will always give God the credit.

I went ‘mylanta’ crazy w/ Ari, LOL!I gave him a squirt at every little fuss!!!!thank God he did not have reflux!but that mylanta sure did get some use, LOL!August 24, 2009 at 8:49 pm #63702AnonymousInactiveLucas is my first and I noticed that he could not be put down in the hospital. Infact, when we got home I never could set him down….he’s wake immediately and cry. Nothing worked but wearing him. He spit up, but not horribly. He slept great at night but was fussy ALL DAY. At night he would cry for hours. He was not “diagnosed” with reflux until nearly 5 months when he couldn’t gain weight and my supply was non-existent. He snacked all day. Anyways, once we started meds things improved greatly. We are having problems now, but he is/was teething and we tried to wean from reflux meds (he’s 11 months now)…it didn’t work and now I wonder if the dose he is on is not enough or if the teething is doing something.
