my dd has DGE and i will tell that DGE is a symptom of a hidden problem. My dd DGE is caused by allergies (food for sure) and we are in the process of testing for enviromental alllergies.
My dd DGE was horrible (she was emyting 25% of her food over and hour period). This improved to 85% once we added plant based digestive enzymes and did an elimination diet, then a rotaion diet with the safe foods we got (it took about 6 months to see this improvment).
I know allergies are her issues beacuse we tried adding some news foods back on her diet and the trowing up, gagging and nausea came back.
This was after intesive GI testing that came back normal; including a manometric, two endoscopies, a ph probe and an Impedance test. She was vominting so much, i honestly don’t know how we made it. She was also on Neocate, but it took a lot of trail and error to find out she was allergic to the Corn syrup in the formula.
The test Laura is talking about is called a Gastric emtying scan. You can google it for more info. It is painless and a bit difficult to keep little one still during the procedure, but with toys and all it can be done.
