Well…we went for an ultrasound today (my sister in law is a sonographer, so sneaked us in at the end of her day), and Dagney’s going to have a little brother! We’re very excited!! We really would have been happy with either, I’d love for Dagney to have a sister, but we would really like to have 1 of each as well. Plus my husband’s side is all girls, this will be the first boy out of 9 grandchildren, so that will be nice!
Now we can get working on names and stocking up on boys clothes! We’ve already started getting Dagney’s big girl room ready–we’re moving her to the spare room and keeping the baby in Dagney’s current room which is a beach/sea theme that’s very unisex. My DH painted her room 2 different pinks–we found a pamphlet from Home Depot for a Disney “princess” room, so we’re going to use that as a guide, but make it more of a generic princess theme rather than a Disney princess theme, if that makes sense! I’m just very excited for her, she’s excited too. We have to finish up some stenciling and get her a bed. She’s so excited and asks if daddy’s making her a bed too. This is just such a great age for her, she’s doing well with using the potty, liking day care, and just overall happy, I think she’s going to be a great big sister!February 13, 2009 at 9:51 pm #61007AnonymousInactiveCONGRATS ON THE WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How awesome! Have fun with the room decorating!! Dagney will be an amazing big sister!!! I have always been very close with my lil bro!

Be sure to come back and do a baby boy name poll when you get your choices narrowed down. The name picking is so fun. We already have a girls name (had it picked out when I was preggo with Cooper) and I am up a creek if when we have another baby we get another boy… I don’t have any good boy ideas or I would share with you!
February 13, 2009 at 10:54 pm #61012AnonymousInactiveCONGRATULATIONS, Denise! So happy to hear about baby boy, and glad to hear that Dagney is doing so well. I think you’ll like having one of each, and having the girl as the older one has been great for us. She is such a help with her little brother.

CONGRATULATIONS!boys ARE fun! and it’s great to have the first boy (mine are the only ones in the family, too)!let us know about names- I love names, lol!June 25, 2009 at 6:05 am #63044AnonymousInactiveHi Ladies!
Just checking in, I havent been around for a while, but hope all is well with everyone! We have about 4 1/2 weeks to go before my c-section! Although we’re very anxious to meet our little guy, we’re not at all ready!! The room isn’t done, we don’t have a name, we have no crib (Dagney’s was recalled, so we have to get a new one!). BUT, we’re planning on doing most of that this weekend. My dh was side-tracked for a while due to work issues and having to help out a lot with some family stuff.I, on the other hand, now have a severe double ear infection and can barely hear! I”ve been out of work all week, and am getting frustrated and anxious! I went to an ENT yesterday, and he may have to puncture the eardrum to let it drain, NOT something I was planning on doing with less than 1 month to go before delivery, but if it’ll speed up recovery, then I’ll have to do it. He wants to try a different antibiotic first, but may need to do it next week. UGH!!! I have SO much I need to do, but can’t do much of that from my bed…then I wake up coughing at 4 am and can’t get back to sleep–which is why i’m posting this at 545 am!!Hope all is well and wish us luck! I’ll keep you posted once our no-name baby arrives!!June 26, 2009 at 4:28 pm #63065AnonymousInactiveCongrats! Good luck. Very exciting!
August 5, 2009 at 9:56 pm #63464AnonymousInactiveHi all!
Well, he’s here!! Harrison Kevin was born on 7/23/09 at 1:38 pm. I was scheduled to go in for a c-section on July 28, but went into labor myself a few days ahead of schedule. Dagney is adjusting well and says she loves her brother. She likes to hold him and kiss him too. Tomorrow will be my first day alone with the 2 kids, my dh was home last week and my dad was visiting until today…wish me luck! The not so good thing is, he’s definitely got acid reflux. I’ll post in another thread the details, but it looks like I’ll be spending more time on the board again! Wish us luck with this too!!August 5, 2009 at 10:47 pm #63466AnonymousInactiveAww, congrats to your family. I bet Dagney’s going to be a great sister. Sorry to hear that little Harrison’s got reflux but this time around, you’re armed with info and experience. Don’t worry about staying alone with both kids. I did fine so I bet you’ll do too. Good luck.
