Ugh! Today has been ridiculous! Corri, now 5 weeks, slept pretty well last night, woke up late, slept great this morning. I guess she was saving it up for the rest of the day? Mid-nap, 45 minutes after she’d nursed, she threw up so much that she didn’t have a dry spot left on her and so forcefully that I swear she started choking a couple times. She’s been mostly miserable since and, of course, now that it’s nighttime she’s moved on to inconsolable.
Poor baby. You can tell her throat is irritated because when she nurses, she pulls off screaming, but she wants to nurse for the comfort. (The pacifier is about to get chunked across the room.) But if she does manage to nurse without it bothering her, it’ll most likely come up – although, then she’d at least relax enough to rest. Oh, and tonight apparently the ONLY way to hold her is completely upright, while walking in circles. I’ve got no idea what’s wrong with pacing the halls.
Thanks for the place to vent. I’m hoping that we only have a few more days of this. The scrips were written out 2 weeks ago when she weighed 9 lbs 11oz. Best guess, because I don’t have a working baby scale anymore, is that she’s somewhere between 11 and 12 pounds now and needs a dosage bump on both meds. We go in Tuesday morning for a weigh-in.
