So I’ve nearly convinced myself to give the TED a try and see if it helps. Does anyone have any recommendations for multivitamins and calcium supplements?
Thanks for the help!c4ndsmom 2009-02-01 12:45:09 February 1, 2009 at 10:07 pm #60730hellbenntKeymasterno one has answered you, but I would say to go to a health food store/whole foods and ask about maybe a prenatal that is free of the top allergens? I say prenatal only bcse they’re chock full of good stuff–
you can also look at this link for probiotics and look at the brand names and then check those brands out at the store or google them to see what else they offer, aside from probiotics:

February 3, 2009 at 8:14 pm #60759AnonymousInactivesorry I haven’t responded until now (thanks Laura though)… I’ve been dealing w/ a few rough days w/ Evan.
Anyway, I hate to admit it but I haven’t been doing a multi-vitamin. I haven’t been able to find a hypoallergenic brand that I could buy locally. I’ve really just been not prioritizing it since I DO order other vitamins/supplements for the kids online. Anyway, I just do a calcium supplement – just the basic generic brand.
Sorry I’m not much help.
BUT… keep us updated w/ TED! Good luck!
February 7, 2009 at 10:01 pm #60876AnonymousInactiveWell, I ended up going with Source of Life liquid prenatal… it appears to be free of anything offensive. Haven’t found a calcium supplement that I can swallow, yet. (I’m a wimp with pills.) Will keep looking.
As far as the TED is going…. well, the hubby has been doing the grocery shopping, so the TED hasn’t started yet. But, I have cut out all dairy and it seems to have helped some. Not a ton, but some. So we’ll keep moving in the direction of the TED.February 7, 2009 at 10:11 pm #60877AnonymousInactiveI found a blueberry flavored liquid calcium at several local healthfood stores that was MSPI/Gluten free. I didn’t take it while on strict TED (I hadn’t found it at that point). It is called Liquid Target-Mins
Calcium-Magnesium with Vitamin D3 Complex (http://www.country-life.com/moreinfo.cfm?Category=25&Product_ID=393&CFID=1794275&CFTOKEN=43446469)The website shows:Other Ingredients: Purified water, natural vegetable glycerin, natural blueberry flavor blend, citric acid, xanthan gum, sodium benzoate (preservative), potassium sorbate (preservative).Does Not Contain: Yeast, wheat, soy, gluten, milk, artificial colors, artificial flavors or artificial sweeteners.
If you end up trying this, you must SHAKE WELL before each time. The first bottle I got, I thought I was shaking it pretty good. But I ended up with a thick layer of undissolved calcium on the bottom of the bottle (maybe 2″ thick) and so that meant I had not actually been getting the calcium in all those doses I had been taking. With my next bottles, I would once in a while use a chopstick to stir around inside the bottle to make sure that I could feel nothing settling at the bottom.February 10, 2009 at 3:46 pm #60925AnonymousInactiveI’m going to look for this the next time I go to the store! Blueberry and liquid… sounds good to me! Thanks for the suggestion!
