welcome!
I have a lot to say…first of all:
the fact that you said the prilosec worked for 2 weeks makes me think that it was a liquid form- they are called compounds & are notorious for becoming unstable after 2 weeks. if the prevacid is the same type/form-a compound- then that’s most likely the culprit. well, that along with the dose. it’s most likely too low.
http://www.marci-kids.com will show you the proper dosing for weight & age for your baby.
as for your diet it may or not be your diet. how are his poops? normal yellow/mustardy seedy breastfed poops? or foamy & green like shaving vream? or stringy/mucousy? or green & mucousy? or watery & green? occasional green poops in breastfed babies are NORMAL- just not all the time…also does baby grunt and strain and seem like it’s hard to pass a stool? are poops & foul smelling? these things can indicate that it might be something in your diet. if stools are for the most part ‘normal,’ then I would just adress medicine for now- get that straightened out, and then see if it’s diet- that’s just my own experience- i did the TEd (total elimination diet) but it was out of complete desperation and I really didn’t think it was anything w/ my diet- I did find a few ‘offending’ foods, so I’m glad i did it, though…
also: the meds won’t stop the spitting up, just the pain…
I have more to say, if you go to the Introduce Yourself Forum, you’ll see ‘groupie intro’ stickied (top post) and I have a LOT of info there!
so glad you found us!
