The doctor mentioned switching PPI’s. Would we have to go through another 2-week wait? Does anyone know if this is okay, or if we’d have to stop in between?
you night have a few days but not the initial 2 weeks wait- usually the switch is from prilosec to prevacid…but a switch might be necessary? perhaps ‘all’ you need is an increased prevacid dose…have you checked
I hated prilosec! It was hard to give and tasted terrible. We don’t get zegerid here, so as far as omeprazole goes, prilosec was the only choice. We used it first for 8 months, then switched to prevacid and never looked back. It tastes much better and seemed to work better for Hailey too, though it could have been that she wasn’t gagging it up due to the horrible aftertaste!
How did you administer the Prilosec? Was it in Caracream? I just wonder because I thought that was supposed to make it taste better. At this point we have some Prevacid capsules, so once we get the Caracream we’ll be using those. I really appreciate your sharing your experience; it’s hard enough getting Jenna to take the Prevacid solutabs. If the Prilosec is as nasty-tasting as you say, it’d be silly of us to switch.
