New, Need Help..Is this Reflux?

Okay to start out My name is Crystal 23, I have a son who is 16 months old who has Hirschsprung’s Disease, and also a daughter who is almost 2 months old who also has Hirschsprung’s Disease, and my Husband who is 25. Hirschsprung’s Disease is when the ganglion cells in the intestine don’t form properly and the are unable to pass stool properly. My son had 8 inches of his large intestine taken out, and my daughter had 16 inches removed.

This is where I need help.
My daughter who is almost 2 months old has had episodes of projectile vomiting in the past. One here or there. They tested her for pyloric stenosis when she was almost a month or a month old. That came back negative. She didn’t have any throwing up periods until now. She also is in a lot of discomfort. She makes this weird noise like she is sucking in air and will continue to do this off and on all day long. And she squirms when she is making these noises. She also draws her legs up, and throws her head back. She sleeps descent through the day. But at night she is horrible, I have to sleep with her on my chest, rather laying in her bassinet. And she continues the noises off and on all night long. Last week she started projectile vomiting all her feeds for 2 days. So seen a ped. GI and she said that she thinks she is lactose intolerant, and has acid reflux. She put us on Axed, and switched us to pregestimil by Enfamil. Sent us home, and she was still projectile vomiting every feeding, So we were admitted to the hospital put on IV fluids, and also a Pepcid through her IV. She did better, she sleep through the night there only waking to feed, and only vomited a few times. She is on Alimentum (SP?) by similac now, and I am going to switch her to nutramigen (sp?).

Does this sound like reflux??? She had lower GI’s done and x-rays to make sure she doesn’t have a blockage from her Hirschsprung’s disease, and all came back normal. But she is in so much pain on and off and day and night long, and making those funny noises. I am just apprehensive since she has another disease.

When does reflux usually occur? Can the just me okay (but in pain, and make funny noises, and not sleep through the night) and then start projectile vomiting?

I’m just so confused. What do you think. I also need to be on a formula that doesn’t constipate her (since she has a problem pooping on her own anyways) Which one would be best for her? Pregestimil, Nutramigen, Alimentum?

Any other advice…..PLEASE HELP!!

My father also has Barret’s Disease, can reflux be genetic?
