Let me start by saying as most of you know we have been through ALOT of medical issues. To see these pictures just brings me to tears.
Big happy tears that are now rolling down my cheeks.
You would never know that under all those close are many scars on his chest. Or that there is a PERMANTE feeding tube in there either. That was used to keep him alive for sole nutrition for over 18 months.
My son never ceases to amaze me, ever. Period. He is the most resiliant person I have ever met.
I posted this here because you would never believe that one year ago on hi sbirthday he was completely 100% tube fed. On his birthday last year (Oct 20) we sat him in hi shighchair to see what he would do with a slice of his cake. Let me tell you, he screamed bloody murder when he got cake on his hands and hated it. I had to whip him out of the high hair and clean him off as fast as we could.Today 3 days before his second birthday he is completely oral. YES it may be all stage 2 baby foods and liquids BUT he’s eating. Quite a drastic picture from last isn’t it.So I won’t post them all….LOL

Jessica, he is doing great!, are they talking about removing the tube? I know you have a phobia about them taking it out. lol

I know you have a phobia about them taking it out. lolI do have such a phobia about taking it out…LOL We really don’t knwo life without one…hahahaIf he goes this winter doing pretty good then maybe next spring we pull it.Righ tnow I’m whishing he didNOT have one. He walks around the house holding it like it’s his security blanket and won’t let it go. Doesn’t sound like a bad thing but, it is causeing granulated tissue to grow which I am haivng to treat with a steroid cream. If it gets any bigger I’ll need to see the surgeons office and have it burnt off with Silver Nitrate sticks. NOT FUN….I’ll o nly do tha tas a last resort though. (we have done it in the past and it hurts.)I’ll wrap his belly in gauze before I’ll do the sticks….LOL
