For her on the Zantac. After only on night that seemed improved, she only slept for 3 hrs, one hour at a time last night. And had horrible gas, straining and arching and 7 of her scary silent reflux episodes with wide eyed red faced gulping.
That and her sleep wedge will now not be delivered until the 14th and it was sent UPS – the absolutely slowest and most expensive way to get it across the border. Brokerage alone is going to be $59.00 on an item that cost $299 USD and $100 in shipping already. We’ll also be charged the max in taxes and duty with UPS yet I’m sure.
I wish they had used USPS!
I don’t know whether to be angry or sad or frustrated or all of the above.
Jsquared 2008-10-10 11:48:29 October 10, 2008 at 11:56 am #57582AnonymousInactivegoing forward, is there any benefit for you to have products sent to one of us in the continental US and then ship USPS to you? Let me know…. I would be more than happy to help if I can!
October 10, 2008 at 12:19 pm #57583AnonymousInactiveOh it totally would have been, but unfortunately (out of desperation) I gave UPS the go ahead to be our brokers yesterday afternoon. It was after the fact when I checked the tracking that I’d discovered that this wasn’t going to help it get to me any faster. So I’m afraid its a wonderful idea /offer (thank-you!) but I think its too late.
Too bad I didn’t rant until after the brokerage call.
But going forward I will certainly keep it in mind!

how much does baby weigh?October 11, 2008 at 2:43 pm #57604AnonymousInactiveI got it via Sherri Discovered we definitely have room to up it a bit.
October 11, 2008 at 9:59 pm #57611AnonymousInactiveHey Jennifer,
I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through and are going through. I just wanted to say that we got one whopping day of relief on Zantac with Nathan, too. My first refluxer fared a little better — almost one week with pretty good results on Zantac. Anyway, we upped to the max dose per weight, and it still was pretty much useless. I think you’re already aware of PPI’s like Prevacid, Zegerid, Nexium, and I just wanted to say that an agressive dose of Prevacid was the only thing that gave my boys lasting relief. If you don’t see great results within just a few days of upping the Zantac dose, I’d move on to a PPI — especially since they often take 2 full weeks to see results. But you can keep giving the Zantac until the PPI kicks in, just spaced 4 hours apart.October 11, 2008 at 10:34 pm #57615AnonymousInactiveJsquared wrote:

Seriously! And just like Paula’s boys, my LO didn’t get any relief (ok- maybe 2 days of partial relief?) on zantac. I agree with what she said about the PPI being most effective. Most of us have found that we’ve needed to move past the H2blocker and move on to something stronger.Good luck, and dear Lord, I hope the wedge arrives soon and that it helps immensely! I am sorry you had to pay so much in shipping. It’s highway robbery!October 12, 2008 at 9:03 am #57619AnonymousInactiveOh I’m so sorry! I remember all to well what it was like. I wish I got on more often and knew that you were buying a wedge. What kind is it? I paid SO much money on purchase/brokerage/shipping when I bought Haileys amby bed and comfy lift bed. If you ever want to buy either of those products, let me know.
October 16, 2008 at 1:14 am #57745AnonymousInactiveWe’ve got the wedge it’s a RES-Q and it’s taking a bit for Janna to get used to it but I think it will help. Lori I didn’t see your post until now.
I was joking with our pharmacist today that I’m SURE Janna is the most expensive baby in town.
