My four month old son has acid reflux and just went back on zantac..he was off it for a little because we thought it was better and that he just had a lot of gas so the dr put him on gas medicine, Levsin. He has been on it for a week now and I want to know when I can expect him to sleep better. He has always been a bad sleeper but it seems to have gotten worse and since of his reflux I can’t let him cry so I am beyond sleep deprived. Any suggestions, help? He is also sleeping in our room in his stroller (good incline) so he is keeping me up a lot. He is very happy during the day though and I do wonder if he really does have reflux? I don’t know if I should take him to see a specialist to make sure he does have reflux??!
I am losing my mind with it these days!

He has always been a bad sleeper and the most he goes at night is about 4.5 hours and he is a big baby…17.5 pounds and 4 months old! His naps during the day are about a half hour/45 minutes, tops.
August 17, 2008 at 7:27 pm #55455hellbenntKeymasterreflux can affect everything- eating, sleeping, pooping, etc.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever had heart burn, but it hurts!there are grown adults who go to the emergency room thinking they are having a heart attack and it’s reflux….also, I’m sorry to say, that 5hrs is considered ‘sleeping through the night’*sigh*this baby stuff sure is hard, isn’t it?once babies are more comfortable, and aren’t in pain all the time, then sleeping, eating, etc does get betterso that you can wear your baby and perhaps he’d sleep that way for longer than 40 minutes. since he’s ‘heavy’ I’d look for the info about MEI TAIS (nope, not a drink, LOL!) and wraps– look for the link right at the top of the page after you click on the above link- it’s called ‘babywearing condensed’also: diet can affect sleep. “diet?” you ask. well, what formula is your son on or are you breastfeeding? many babies have reflux either as a result from having mspi (reflux as a symptom of mspi) or, in addition to it. from ‘groupie intro’ https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=853&PN=1&TPN=1,there are links to mspi information (milk/soy protein intolerance/allergy) -
