Averi hasn’t had any improvements on the increase in meds, addition of e-mycin, or the switch to elecare. It has been over 2 weeks now. So, the GI is wanting to go ahead with the endoscopies. I’m really nervous about it, but I know it’s what we need to do. While they’re doing the procedures they’ll also be drawing blood to run allergy testing. I just now have to convince the allergist to add CORN SYRUP to the list of things to test. They, allergist & GI, keep telling me that Averi couldn’t be allergic to the corn syrup b/c it doesn’t contain the protein, but some of you remember SUE…AND…Her DD WAS allergic to corn & corn syrup. So, I’ll be pushing for it to be added. I mean, what would it hurt?! They’ll have her blood to test for the other allergies, why not do one more just to be sure?! So, the endoscopies are scheduled for next Thurs., but they won’t give me any specifics until the day before. The GI also mentioned something about giving Averi miralax so as to empty her bowels. So, it’s gonna be interesting!
Oh, quick question…Did anyone know that elecare also contains soy? I don’t know why I never noticed it, but it does. I thought that both neocate & elecare were elemental formulas and didn’t contain any milk or soy. Well, it’s one of the things she’ll be tested for so we’ll see.
Is there anything with the anesthesia that I should be worried about? Would it/could it contain anything that she’s allergic to, like as far as food allergies? I’ll be sure to talk w/the anesthesiologist before they do anything.
Any Info/Opinions would be greatly appreciated!
