I suspect my 1 yr old has a gluten allergy, maybe MSPI too. Does anyone know how these are tested for? Are there any less invasive tests? Also, can it usually be done by a regular pedi. or does it need to go through his GI? TIA!
I don’t know the type of test specifically but I do know that you will have to go through an allergist. My have to have a referral from your ped or the gi. We are have testing done in a few weeks but we are just having skin prick done for seasonal/environmental and possible food allergies.
I think you can do a rotation diet or food diary at home for him. Just
track symptoms, change the foods using only gluten free and dairy free.
Try this every day for a week and see which ones are worse. Then slowly
add back in some wheat and or dairy, see what is harder on his system
to digest.
He may just be wheat sensitive, not actually gluten intolerant—–that will be easier to deal with for you.
