Hi all I have been reading on here about probiotics. Do they also help with gas and what is the dosage the babies should have daily. What is the benefit of them?
June 19, 2008 at 8:29 pm #52790AnonymousInactiveI would assume that they will help with gas as they are working on digestion. Each product tells you how much to give. Ours has a scoop in the bottle and that is what you use. The benefits are endless. PM Sheri (MFPIX2) as she is the guru around here that is if she doesn’t answer this thread too. HTH.
June 19, 2008 at 8:32 pm #52792AnonymousInactiveOk that is good to know. I ordered the ones from Klaire labs and hope they will help with his gas. I will contact her if I do not hear from her. Thanks for the help.

She alternates b/t that one and the one we use which is ProBio Gold by Kirkman labs. The probiotics helped my boys get rid of GI yeast overgrowth. It also regulated their BM’s and made them the right consistency (before it was either constipation or runny poo, never a normal poo!) so they can help with many GI related problems.

I know it says to on the bottle but I wanted to see what everyone else’s experience has been. Ethan had a semi runny poop today, and yesterday it was really thick. So hoping for a happy medium.

June 25, 2008 at 11:04 am #53005AnonymousInactiveDoes anyone know if there is a probiotic out there that is a Gummy version? We are using the powder with Taylor but she hates it. Alexis is taking the chewables and doing fine with them but Taylor doesn’t understand the chewables and tries to swallow it whole. She is really good at taking gel tablets or gummy vitamins just wondering if I can find probiotics in this form instead.

June 26, 2008 at 3:09 pm #53064AnonymousInactiveBoth of my girls seemed to do worse when on probiotics. I was taking them for a while too so they would be passed on to McKenzie and I noticed they made me so bloated and gave me bad gas. Once I stopped them I was fine and McKenzie was actually better. It is funny…they made some things better and others worse.
June 26, 2008 at 4:13 pm #53068AnonymousInactiveProbiotics are funny that way. When you (or your lo) first start taking them, it seems like they are making you worse. What is happening is that the probiotic is killing off all of the icky yeast. I’m not sure of all the symptoms but I know one symptom is irritability. It kind of has to get worse for a little bit before it gets better. Hang in there! Here is some more info:
(scroll down to the “What About Die-Off” topic)June 29, 2008 at 3:16 pm #53174AnonymousInactiveI just started giving my baby the infant formula from Klaire labs. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy with it! My son has had mucous and diarrhea from a C-Diff infection for almost 4 months meanwhile taking 5 courses of anti-biotics. After 2 days on this pro-biotic, no more mucous or diarrhea! I do have to say though, he had some uncomfortable gas for a couple of days. I think it was the battle of good and bad bacteria going on in his belly. It went away within 3 days. I give my baby 1/4 teaspoon every night in his last bottle.
