i took my 4 month old daughter to see the pedotrician after she had seizure like attacks where she was arching back, arms jerking, her whole body shakes, after this happens then she crys, she goes quite, and pale after this happens, my pedotrician said it was reflux and has given her antacid medicine but since she has been on it she has had 4 of these seizure like attacks and i was wondering if it’s normal for her to still have these if she is on meds and if so whats causing them
its really scary to see it happen and i’m worried why its continuing, has he diagnosed her right or is it something else, any info or advice would be muchly appreciated!

My youngest had it bad and would arch back in my arms and keep his head to one side or the other with arms flailing about. His ears now stick out b/c of the movements he made as a baby. Once we got him on a PPI drug (prevacid) he really started to calm down.What antacid did your pedi Rx to your baby? If zantac, not many of us have had luck with it. it’s weight sensitive and only seems to work about 5 days before symptoms return.Is your LO on formula or are you BFing? An intolerance to milk and soy protein can cause reflux. Many babies on here are unfortunate enough to have the intolerances & reflux as a result of the intolerance or form an immature LES.
If you are formula feeding, you might try a hypoallergenic formula and if you are BFing, you might try elimating offending proteins from your diet. This includes ALL forms of dairy- even hidden dairy like in bread, crackers, etc. HTH! Welcome to the site!jilly782008-06-03 11:47:10
