and while he is sleeping he is throwing up..i am scared he is going to choke in his sleephe has no teeth yet, could that also be adding to the problem, and he also has recently had the fluhe does not really like his solids, but i given him everyday and he has between 4 & 5 bottles a dayhe also coughs quite allotand his parents are not on medical aid and in this country you need medical aid, our goverment hospitals are the worst places you have ever seengrandmother that needs helpMay 22, 2008 at 9:01 am #51675AnonymousInactiveHello
Could someone call the Dr back and say that the motilium (what is motilium by the way—-I don’t know) is only giving temporary relief? If you don’t have medical aid, are you still able to get to the Dr?
I am sorry, I don’t have any advice for you other than saying to call the Dr again. I have found so much helpful advice from so many wonderful people here, I am sure you will get lots of responses!
Take care

Can you elevate the crib, that helped us a lot. Also, can you buy the over the counter mylanta in your country? That gave us some instant relief, although it was temporary, it would help if I did it right before a feed to get Dylan to eat more.I think you do need a doctor, though as if he is still vomiting and throwing up as opposed to just spitting up (one is more projectile and excessive volume) at 9 months, I would want to get a further evaluation. You could possibly e-mail Dr. Phillips. He is at the university of Missouri and someone here has his e-mail (help me moms!). He is very responsive. He is a pharmacutical (my spelling is horrible) doctor who has done studies on reflux and meds, and so he is well versed and could possibly give you advice by e-mail? I’m not sure….Hang in there!!!!Ann MarieMay 22, 2008 at 2:22 pm #51684AnonymousInactiveLesley, When you say he has been throwing up “lately” what do you mean? The last few days, weeks, months? If it’s just been the last few days, it could very well be that he is still recovering from the virus and his tummy is just very sensetive.
If it’s been longer than that, I would start to look into what he is eating. What solid foods is he eating? What type of formula is he on? Many babies reflux due to a milk/soy protein intolerance, so it’s possible he is reacting to something like that. Intolerances are often indicated by other outward signs too (not always though) – eczema or skin rash, runny/mucousy/bloody poos, sleeping trouble, gas pains/cramping. -
