This was on thursday but I have been super busy. He weighed in at 19lbs 2oz so that takes him down below the 25th percentile(so he has lost 6oz in 1 week. My ped said not to worry (which i wasn’t just yet) b/c Isaac had the reaction to the milk formula (vomitting and diarhea). We are still not able to get him to eat much at all which the ped is very concerned about. He said if Isaac doesn’t have an apetite in the next 2 weeks we need to have some testing done. I personally think this is due to the fact that he is getting his molars in! We talked about his protonix dose and we feel confident that it is high enough for now. As for the milk issues he said he felt that Isaac still has the milk intolerance (possible allergy) b/c Isaac’s eczema flared up pretty badly head to toe. He told us maybe a month from now (if we feel up to it) to try a hidden milk trial (karen I should have just listened to you). I am not sure if I am ready for this but we will see. Oh and Isaac is 29 (right below 75th percentile) inches long and the ped said he will be a tall boy! Sorry this is so long!
I wouldn’t be surprised if Isaac’s lack of appetite was mainly due to
teething – the poor boy is almost done with them all already – it’s
beena rough nine months for him! What kind of testing would they want
to do?
Honestly, if it were me, I’d probably wait until one year to try even
hidden dairy given his reaction this time was so strong. And at that
point, if he reacts again, maybe do some allergy testing?
Hailey was 19 pounds 8oz at her 9 month checkup, but we told that’s almost the 50th percentile! I know the charts are a bit different for girls and boys, but they can’t be that different. Are the charts different in Canada or something?
Thanks so much Sarah! Interestingly, there is a huge difference between the charts for boys and girls. When I put Hailey’s weight in for 10 months (19.8 pounds) it was the 47th percentile, but then when I put the same thing in for a boy it was only the 17th. I had no idea what a big difference there was. I’m really surprised.
