Well Ashlynn is now working on her second ear infection and sinus infection. Thank goodness we our getting tubes Tuesday, so is big sissy(2nd set plus adenoids). Ash is getting tubes becasue of fluid that has not left since dec and same for sissy.
How do you girls now when they grow out of reflux. Ash has not spit up in along time, but she still gets the hiccups alot and ever now and then makes that gerd sound.
That is a good question. Cooper hasn’t spit up since before Christmas but b/c I was introducing milk and trying new foods, I didn’t start weaning his meds until about 2 wks ago. Now we are in the throws of horrible seasonal allergies and I am thinking I am going to keep him at the current 22.5mg of prevacid until the pollen calms down a bit just in case. I am guessing that you are asking b/c you are thinking about weaning meds. She may have outgrown it at 9 months, that is about when I think Cooper did but b/c the meds aren’t hurting him I just didn’t worry about weaning until recently and it is for selfish reasons for me. I hope I answered your question some.
I understand being afraid. I was terribly afraid but I know that he will be off it eventually. I really want him off b/c he gets his p.m. dose before dinner and with summer and everything we are outside so much, I hate having to time it and leave the outside fun so I can cook him dinner. We live on a dead end street (1/4 mile long) only about 20 houses and there are 8 small children within 6 houses so we are all outside playing and I hate making him come in b/c I gave him his med and now he has to eat. Right now not a big deal but I know in a few months he is going to throw tantrums b/c of it, so I want him off before it becomes a problem. That is if he can be off. The rollercoaster ride makes it all so difficult.
ok this sounds weird, but I think when you get the tubes in you can ask them to test the ph of the fluid!! (seems simple enough- a little strip of paper to test the ph)
if it’s acidic, well, then you know it’s reflux…
if it’s not acidic, well, might still be related to reflux but not as bad…
