I just joined this forum to see if I could get some input on our problem. My 7 week old started Zantac at about 3.5 weeks of age. It somewhat helped alleviate the crying, back-arching and spit up post breast feeding. I’m also off dairy now because we found that supplementing with regular cow’s milk formula and days when I’d eat a lot of dairy caused major spit up.
But now our problem seems to be that he has intense trouble with pooping. He grunts, cries, wakes up at night and generally has a hard time. He will go for a day or so without pooping and then finally when he does it’s very watery. I think it might burn too…more like diarhea. I’ve done rectal stimulation and suppositories – which work…but I just don’t think this is normal.
Any thoughts on whether this could be caused by the Zantac? Does anyone else have this problem?
