hi everyone,
i took a pregnancy test today..and it said “pregnant” .. yay… we are very excited.just wondering if anyone has ever taken a pregnancy test way before their missed period.. mine isnt due for a week! i have all the symptoms too.. that is what made me take a test. crazy huh?anyhow, just wanted to share the news with you.. and what do you all think? could it be twins then( because of the high hormones)?!! haha.. oh my.hope everyone is having a great weekend.laurenApril 6, 2008 at 10:11 am #49964AnonymousInactiveCongratulations!!
Yes, I knew about a week before I missed my period with two of my pregnancies. Felt lousy, took the test, and it was positive. With Myles I was so stunned and unsure that I took the test five times and noticed that the line got darker each day!! It’s actually impossible to get a false positive except in some very rare medical conditions, so there was no need to repeat the test, but I needed the reassurance I guess.Don’t know about the twins…maybe!Anyway, I’m happy to hear the good news!!April 6, 2008 at 10:18 am #49965AnonymousInactiveThat so great!!!
I took mulitple tests each time and even called my dr office asking if it could be false the first time because we weren’t trying. I find those little sticks hard to believe, but 2 boys later, the stick was right!!April 6, 2008 at 1:53 pm #49974AnonymousInactiveCONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! I have heard there can be false negatives if it is early, but false positive is extremely unlikely!
Hooray!!!!! I know we still need the playdate plans, (things here have been crazy).I am so happy for you!!!!April 6, 2008 at 1:59 pm #49976AnonymousInactiveThat is great news. I’m not brave enough to think about a #2 just yet but I am always so happy to hear of this news from others. Keep us posted.
April 6, 2008 at 2:22 pm #49983AnonymousInactiveI took a test at week before my period was due with Isaac and it turned up positive. The tests are so sensitive now that a positive before your period happens alot. The second time around I didn’t even notice that I had missed my period at all
Congrats!!!April 6, 2008 at 2:26 pm #49985AnonymousInactiveCongratulations!!
With Landen I got a pos test 5 days before I was due for my period. Landen is proof that the test was right. lol
I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months!! how exciting!jilly782008-04-06 14:26:31

question: how do you guys feel with taking antibiotics while pregnant? i was on a round last week.. stopped them at day 8 almost 9.. (doctor said i could..cuz i thought it was making me sicker plus i wasnt sure on how safe they are).. and now i feel the strep coming back again!! what should i do ..April 7, 2008 at 11:06 am #50011AnonymousInactiveOMG! Congratulations. So happy for you.
About the antibiotics, I think the lower strength ones are fine like amoxicillan. Not sure about the others but I would think they would be safer than having strep. I would definitely check with your doc. and maybe get restested for strep.April 7, 2008 at 11:19 am #50012AnonymousInactiveMy doctor always said it was better to take the antibiotic than to walk around with an infection in your body for 9 months while you are pregnant. Your doctor will know what is safe. Do you have an OB that you really trust? That would be the best place to ask.
Don’t worry! I shudder to think of what our parents’ generation did because they didn’t know better when they were pregnant!!Congrats again!!April 7, 2008 at 12:15 pm #50013AnonymousInactiveCongratulations Lauren!! That is such awesome news!! Best wishes for a reflux free baby (though you’ll have plenty of advice around here if you do get another little refluxer!! )
