Well, in the last week, my daughter has managed to pack on 5 oz. of weight, which the Dr. was happy with. But now he wants her to see a neurologist, citing “excessive movements”, she seems unable to control a lot of her body. She’s so developmentally delayed, it’s just awful to watch. Next Monday she has a cardiology appt., then a Gastro appt. at the end of April, the May 19th an appt. with a developmental pediatrician. No one will see her any sooner, and I WANT ANSWERS. I pray it’s nothing serious, but if it is, lets find out what it is, so I know how to properly care for my daughter, and what I should watch for, and what to expect from her. It’s heartbreaking to watch, she’s such a good baby, smiles all the times, hardly fusses. My mother in law keeps saying she thinks this all happened when I got 2 shots of terbutaline to stop premature labor… after researching it, I’m not sure, but it does seem there is a higher rate of neurology problems with babies born who got the terbutaline in utero.

Just felt like ranting, thanks ahead of time for all your responses.

I’m glad to hear she’s finally gaining some weight. Sorry to hear of all else you are going through. It is really difficult to fear that there is something wrong with your child, when all you want in the world is for them to be happy and healthy. It’s good that you are going to see a number of specialists. I really hope you get some good direction, and a more definitive answer.

At this point, I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion that she has issues that need to be addressed, I just want them to be diagnosed. For all the research us gals do on the internet to make sure all of our children get the proper care, pointing out mistakes that Dr’s have made… WE SHOULD BE M.D.’S!! I hate coming into the office with, “Could it be… could you check out… lets just be safe…” when it’s THEIR job to see it and run the tests, not ME to point them out. One test down is one less thing that could be wrong… Medicine is trial and error, not perfect, I’m the first to understand that. UGH…. now that I’m done ranting, back to cleaning…
