hi-
my son is believed to have reflux but i also think he is colic. at least 3x a week in the evening he begins his fussiness and is very difficult to console.I also use mylecon for gas issues-i hear gripe water is better. Is there different kinds and can anyone recommend what gripe water works best.Is anyone using Colic Calm?richiesmom 2008-03-16 21:03:19 March 17, 2008 at 12:57 am #49069AnonymousInactiveGripe water never worked for us. If your ds has untreated reflux, it probably won’t, IMO.
How old is your son? From what I’ve read and experienced with my kids, it’s pretty normal for babies 3 months and younger to have this “fussy” period in the evening. They are usually just tired and overstimulated from the day. My dd was fussy from about 5 pm till she finally gave up; every night until she was about 4 months. My ds was fussy all of the time; until we got his reflux and MSPI controlled.I highly suggest The Happiest Baby on the Block by Dr. Harvey Karp. I purchased a lot of books after my ds was born; trying to find a solution to his constant crying. This book gives great tips for calming a fussy baby. I give this book as a gift at every baby shower I’m invited to. Warning- not every tip in the book works on every baby; it’s kinda trial and error.March 17, 2008 at 9:55 am #49075AnonymousInactivethanks for the tip. my son is 7wks old.
