HI,

We have moved our son onto Nutramign for the last ten days following a bad cold and constant congestion for about 4 weeks. He is taking it well (well for him which is about 24oz) and certainly is not refusing because of the taste. His feeds “seem” a little less of a struggle. However, over the last 4 days, his stools have been very loose and he is now going twice a days (and sometimes there is ALOT). He also has a rash. Could the forumla be causing this after this long? I often read that Nutramign was used to stop diarahea not cause it. I should note that we had no evidence to suggest he has a milk intolerance other than of course the reflux and the congestion (which could have been a cold). The fact that he is eating better on it is good but I am concerned now that he might have diarahea. Any experiences or advice?

before we put Cooper on Probiotics he would poop after every feeding on the Nutramigen. The proteins are so broken down that they don’t have to do much to digest it so it “goes right through them” so to speak. After probiotics he goes 2 maybe 3 times/day like clock work. I would look into a probiotic and see if it helps any.

What kind of rash? On his bum from all the poop? Or on his face/body?

What kind of probiotic have you been using? We have used a product called BioGia on and off.

We use Flora Baby by renew life. It is milk/soy free and it is pretty pricey ($25 per bottle) but it works well for us.
