Is it normal to get a lot of teeth at one time?? I never experienced any of this with Griffin b/c I had no idea when he was popping a tooth he slept and ate and acted fine. I just had Owen laying on his back on my lap and he is getting 6 teeth that are just starting to come through. I’m so bad I don’t know the names of them but 4 are further to the back and 2 are the canine sharp looking teeth. Is this normal cause I’m gonna go crazy with not sleeping here soon!! I can’t seem to do anything right when he’s awake and he is up about twice a night!!
We are also getting a second set of tubes on Fri so I can’t use Motrin until after the surgery b/c it’s a blood thinner. OOOOOHHHHH it’s gonna be a long few nights here I suspect!!!February 26, 2008 at 9:34 pm #48623AnonymousInactiveWOW! In a way I am actually jealous! Sarah is a HORRIBLE teether and I always HOPE that there are several coming in at once and all the fuss isn’t over just one measly tooth but I’ve never been that lucky. It might be a realllllllllly rough few days but at least you’ve knocked 6 out of the way! That totally stinks about not being able to give motrin! Is tylenol a no-go as well??? What about orajel or hylands teething tablets??
You summed up perfectly how I’ve been feeling with Sarah lately but I like how you worded it “I cant seem to do anything right when she’s awake!” Sooooo true!
Good luck and I hope he feels better soon!
February 27, 2008 at 9:18 am #48626AnonymousInactiveholy cow, do we have twins? Landen is getting 6 teeth rignt now as well! I thought it was so odd too! lol. He has the 2 beside his 2 top, the 2 beside his 2 bottom and his 2 top 1 yr molars (I suck with teeth names too) LOL and omg is he miserable. He is crying at my feet and in my lap all day. He is even mad if I am holding him and up at night again. UGH!
Good luck. We don’t use motrin anyway b/c his stomach is sensitive to it, so tylenol and orajel it is ( i also rub benadryl directly on the gums and that helps)p.s. did his tubes fall out already? we just got landen’s tubes in late jan. please tell me they will last a while!!jilly782008-02-27 09:19:40
February 27, 2008 at 9:25 am #48627AnonymousInactiveWell, we got the tubes last July because he was still getting infections in the summer. They were clogged wtih wax in Dec and fell out in Jan. They said there really wasn’t anything else I could have done, they were just going to fall out. So about 6 mo, but I also know others who stayed in for 2 yrs. I think it depends on the child’s ear anatomy.
He did sleep through the night last night which was a first in awhile!February 27, 2008 at 11:35 am #48635AnonymousInactiveErica
Danika my 2yo had about 8 teeth come in at the same time. She also had to have tubes last year(may) due to numerous ear infections, and one of her tubes is already out and the other is close to coming out. Her one tube lasted 9 months and so far she has not had a infection in that ear.February 27, 2008 at 12:22 pm #48636AnonymousInactiveOh jeez, Jill, our kids are only a few days apart and we’re having 12 month molar issues as well. The only input I think I can give is that d/t their developmental stage, they have separation issues that add to the horrors of teething. I can’t go anywhere w/o Evie following me and she is soooooo whiny. She’s also got the classic loose stool and subsequent diaper rash. After researching a lot of teethin articles, it seems like there is no consistency with when/how teething happens and how many can come in at once, and even how they react. I think it’s all considered normal. Hope it’s over soon for all of us!
February 27, 2008 at 1:27 pm #48639AnonymousInactiveWell we are getting 2 maybe 3 of our 1st yr molars right now and Cooper is doing surprisingly well. If you can’t give motrin, I would do the tylenol and hylands/oragel to get some relief. I accidentily noticed that Cooper was getting his bottom molars. He already has his four top and bottom teeth and we got the top 4 within 5 weeks of each other over halloween and thanksgiving. I hear the the molars are the worst b/c they are so big but shoot with 6 coming in I think we would all be miserable… but hopefully that will put him close to being done with teething? I am trying to be optomistic. I will say some prayers for you all tonight.

February 27, 2008 at 8:11 pm #48665AnonymousInactiveBen is cutting three (late teether here), and it’s driving me bonkers too! He is a weird teether.. started super late, it takes him forever to get it through and he gets them in the weirdest order. He’s cutting three molars right now, and he is a meany.
