Hello everyone,
I haven’t been around for a while, but I am back…I just had my second DD two weeks ago. She has been doing well so far, but today she had a poop that was totally normal in color and consitency, but I couldn’t really tell if it had mucous in it. It didn’t look like it at first glance, but when I was closing up the diaper it opened back up and I noticed that there may have been some type of stringy stuff in there….can anyone give me anthing better to go on?February 21, 2008 at 4:18 pm #48466AnonymousInactiveThe two words that I used to describe it were shiny and slimy. I don’t really know what else to tell you. If you’re bf’ing, I know my son’s normal bf poops were more loose and diarrhea and into the diaper, if you can understand that. When they started to get mucousy, they stuck to him more and were slimy. Don’t know if that helps at all.
Congrats on the new one, hope Briana is doing well with the adjustment. Was Briana MSPI? I don’t remember for sure.February 21, 2008 at 4:24 pm #48468AnonymousInactiveCONGRATS!!!!! I have been thinking of you lately b/c I remembered you were due in Feb! I don’t have an answer to your question…I just wanted to say congrats and I hope the mucous turns out to be nothing.
What is her name? Is Brianna adjusting OK? Are YOU adjusting OK?

OK, this wasn’t the most pleasant of threads we’ve ever had on the forum but a couple of us posted pics of mucousy diapers just in case it could help someone.Hope that helps!February 21, 2008 at 6:20 pm #48473AnonymousInactiveI was going to suggest posting pics if you want, b/c I did remember this post also. I don’t think someone would be offended if you did. Also if you have any doubts, take a diaper into her next appt with the pedi and have it tested for blood and have them look at it. The biggest mistake I made was not being proactive right away.
But if nothing else is going on, hopefully you have a happy, healthy baby! I had one of those, and they are soooo much easier!! But I love all of my children of course, I just wish God would give me all easy ones!! But really now what fun would that be!!February 21, 2008 at 7:08 pm #48475AnonymousInactivecongrats!!!
and for the mucous.. it is kinda like the obvious mucous that comes our of your nose??! sometimes shane would throw up and it would be in there as well.i think you will know it when it comes.. i used to ask the same question..but once it came… boy it was right there!! i hope it isnt.. and it was just a bit slimier poo for no reason.let us know how baby #2 is doing!February 21, 2008 at 7:56 pm #48478AnonymousInactiveHey Emily! I was just wondering when your little one would be arriving. Like everyone else said, the mucous is pretty obvious. Looks just like snot. Now, I will say, that Ben had a few diapers with the stringy stuff too, and we could never figure out what it was. I tended to notice it being stringy when his poop was green, so I think it was a lactose (too much foremilk) thing for him.
Hope dd #2 is just as healthy as can be!!!February 22, 2008 at 6:49 am #48489AnonymousInactiveI was going to say just what Naomi said. It truely looks like snot. Almost like someone blew their nose into the poop.. sorry if too graphic. It is pretty obvious.
