There were some issues with the insurance covering Ariella’s Prevacid so we weren’t able to give her any for the past 2 weeks. At first she was showing signs of reflux and I was going nuts trying to get the meds to her as soon as possible. However, lately she has not shown ANY signs and has been acting as if she’s ok. Do I continue giving her the meds even though she hasn’t shown any signs for a week? I’m confused…I don’t want to wait until it blows up in our faces but at the same time she might be ready to be off of it. Thank you for your suggestions.

Hope this is the sign she is done!!!!!Ann MarieDecember 27, 2007 at 3:39 pm #46729AnonymousInactiveBy chance that you need some let me know I have 30mg samples that I can not use since my daughter is on Nexium

My son showed signs at 5 days that he needed his again. All kids are different though. Also like Ann Marie said she is over one so hopefully her reflux is gone. I know most of our reflux babies outgrow it at 6 mos, 9mos, and a year. Let us know. I am on the edge of my seat here. Too bad we don’t all live near each other so we could have a reflux free party for each of our lo’s once they outgrow their reflux.
December 27, 2007 at 6:46 pm #46738AnonymousInactiveAlana also refluxed a bit when we were weaning meds. Not bad, only occasionally and not overly painfull…well not like the early days! It took about 4 weeks until I saw no reflux at all. I would probably stick with no meds a little longer as well and see how it goes. Goodluck…I hope its the end for you.
December 27, 2007 at 9:26 pm #46752AnonymousInactiveSigh…thank you for your uplifting words. I’m afraid I’ve got bad news :((( Ariella threw up today at my in laws. I don’t know what caused it. All they know is that she was playing with her cousin, started crying and threw up. I’m so upset. And there I was like a food hoping for the end. She’s also swallowing as if something’s coming up. I’m getting so depressed. Every time I think it’s over…
December 31, 2007 at 5:40 pm #46829AnonymousInactiveMarianna, I wouldn’t give up hope just yet. Its that time of the year when we all eat new things, a bit to much etc. It could just be that she vomitted because of some food or something. I personally would still wait a bit longer particularly if it hasn’t happened again.
January 3, 2008 at 1:37 pm #46891AnonymousInactiveMarianna, I am just now seeing your last post and wanted to let you know that Seth just got over a stomach bug and I am still fighting it so something is definitely going around. How is she today?
January 3, 2008 at 10:59 pm #46909AnonymousInactiveTherese and Tiffany, unfortunately that wasn’t the only incident. She threw up a bunch of times after that as well. I gave in and put her on Prevacid again but 15 mgs this time. She’s been so cranky lately, with her fingers constantly in her mouth. She’s been teething very actively (as I like to call it) so I figured it’s better for her to be comfortable rather than adding to her misery. She also hasn’t been sleeping well and has been refusing food. I don’t know if I link it to the teething or her reflux. This is seriously depressing me. I absolutely hate meds and I thought this was a temporary solution for us.
January 4, 2008 at 4:27 am #46915AnonymousInactiveSorry to hear it. Perhaps you could try another wean in a month of so and got to 7.5mgs?
