Have any of you experienced problems with diahrrea while on Zegerid? My little guy has been on the Zegerid for almost three weeks now and he has consitent diahrrea. I don’t know if it is the medication, or if it is an allergy to his soy formula. His BM’s are loose, mucousy and about 10 times a day. He grunts in pain when he has a BM. I read on another post that mucous in the BM’s is due to an irritated colon. Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks!

I would say it’s the soy-but what do I know?

mspi can cause mucousy stools…and other symptoms…

about half of babies who cannot tolerate milk proteins cannot tolerate soy proteins…don’t quote me on this number…

I hope others have opinions!

from my welcome/intro there’s a link to MSPI info…

unfortunately, a lot of this is trial & error…

We had some loose stools with Zegerid but only for a couple of days and not mucous. Emma had severe constipation on soy so I would definetly say it is the soy. How long was he on the soy before zegerid, and did he have the same problems? We switched Emma to Alimentum and seen a remarkable difference, that in combination to Zegerid, I have a totally different baby.
