I swear he wants to make me look like the world’s worst mom when we go out in public this week.
My DS#1 is in dire need of some fall/winter clothes so I went shopping yesterday. I put DS#3 in the stroller…he screamed bloody murder. So I picked him up. He screamed bloody murder. So since he wasn’t going to stop and I *HAD* to get my other DS some clothes I put him back in the stroller and strapped him in and let him go.
We get home and he’s happy as a clam. Smiling, cooing, talking at me. Totally different kid than I’d just spent 45 minutes listening to.
Since he’d been so happy I decided to try again that afternoon. DD needs some shoes since she’s still wearing her sandals from this summer and it’s getting cool out and DS #1 still needs clothes. So I figured I’d go to Kohl’s and kill two birds with one stone right?
As soon as we get in the store, that bottom lip stuck out and a wail eminated from my child that the likes of had never been heard before.
We’re in the shoe dept and a grandpa looking guy winked at me and said, “Child abuse! Child abuse!” (it was funny, not derogatory). Again, picked him up and he just kept crying so I put him back down and let him go until we finished. We get home and happy baby emerged again.
I had choir practice last night so we went out to eat quick before I had to leave…he was a total crank bucket while we were there…pulling my hair, trying to stick his hands in my food, and just generally being fussy. If we put him in the highchair he arched and flailed around so much that I was afraid he was gonna fall out.
I took him with to choir since there was childcare and DH had a project he needed to get done at home that was not easily done while baby watching. He was fine in the nursery, but when I had to bring him into the sanctuary with me for worship team practice, he absolutely wigged out again. The other guy singer on the worship team is a friend of mine and he stuck his mic up to Reiker and he screamed into it and scared himself…I know I shouldn’t laugh, but it was funny after dealing with this crap all day yesterday.
Today is on par again…I’m so sick of being trapped in my house because I feel like I can’t go anywhere otherwise this kid absolutely goes ballistic.

Will he accept babywearing? Maybe that would keep him calm b/c he’s close to your body?Otherwise, do you think he needs a med increase? Maybe he’s crabby b/c he’s not feeling well.Anyhow, hope things improve soon.September 28, 2007 at 2:59 pm #43447AnonymousInactiveCooper is the exact opposite, fortunately he is an angel in public, but as soon as we get in the car and head home that is when the fight begins…. I don’t know which is worse, but either way it isn’t any fun. I hope things get better soon.
September 28, 2007 at 3:27 pm #43451AnonymousInactive(((hugs)))) Sorry to hear you are going through this! I hope your DS starts getting used to being out more. Maybe taking him out more will help but who knows I am by NO means an expert!
September 28, 2007 at 7:44 pm #43458AnonymousInactiveUsually he is better if I put him in my Ergo, but yesterday even that wouldn’t soothe the savage beast.
I even took him to the Ped today to rule out an ear infection just because he’s been spazzing out the past two days so bad.
The Ped said that his upper gums are swollen so maybe he’s teething?
He did take a 3hr nap this afternoon though…
How can he be so cute one minute and such a screaming mess the next?!
September 28, 2007 at 7:58 pm #43459AnonymousInactiveOMG, he is adorable, Mel. I want to reach in there and squeeze him! Sorry that he and you have had such a rough time lately.
September 28, 2007 at 8:41 pm #43465AnonymousInactiveThere’s no way that precious sweet baby did that to you- he is TOO cute to do that. (j/k )
I’m sorry! For me, if it’s not 1, it’s the other. I cannot imagine 4. HUGS!jilly782007-09-28 20:42:02

September 29, 2007 at 8:27 am #43479hellbenntKeymasterSO SO SO CUTE!!!! Love the orange shirt on him! is he a red head?
ok what is that cushion, LOL!(not that I have room for anything else in this house, or shall I say ‘casa de chaos’- that’s what my sister has named our house)September 29, 2007 at 8:40 am #43482AnonymousInactivehellbennt wrote: SO SO SO CUTE!!!! Love the orange shirt on him! is he a red head?

More than likely he’ll be like DH and have blond hair and red facial hair.
That is a “Tuffett” ( http://www.madebyamom.com ) I thought it looked like the dumbest thing ever…until we got it. We all use it…my oldest likes to snuggle up on it and read a book, I smoosh it around and use it as a backrest while I’m watching TV, and Reiker LOVES to nap on it.
