We had Alexandra’s allergy testing done yesterday and they all came up negative! At 9 months old, she tested positive for milk, but this time around milk was negative. Dh and I are still really nervous and afraid to believe that it’s true, but we’ve decided to just go for it and start letting her eat “regular” food and just see what happens. If she starts having problems, we’ll take a step back and re-evaluate. Now our biggest concern is how Kaelyn will react when she realizes that Alex is eating foods that are off limits to her. I guess we’ll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it!
That’s great! Although I’ve had that same thought with Owen, if there is something limited in one childs diet and not the other, that has to be hard! Best of luck with trialing new things! I know it can be nerve wracking!
Wonderful news! Being able to eat milk opens up such a huge door of options for her. I know what you mean about the sibling issue though. Is there any hope that Kaelyn will also grow out of her allergies?
We are definitely still going to take it slow. We have no desire to have everything come crashing down on us.
Naomi, yes, there is a really good chance that Kaelyn will grow out of her allergies. Her allergist wants to wait until she’s five and then test again. With Alex testing negative, dh is all gung ho to test her again now, to see if maybe she’s outgrown some of them at least. I have to admit that I’m tempted to go ahead with testing now too.
Awesome News! I always worry about Landen not being able to eat the things Kaden can eat too. Let us know how the food trials go, it sounds like things are looking good. Good luck!!!
