Are your severe refluxers more clingy than either your non severe refluxers or your non refluxers? I mean after the reflux is gone or under control, not during the height of it.
Jonah isn’t so clingy…he’s slow to warm up in situations, but once he does, he’s off & running & very independent…
example: we go to a birthday party of one of his good friends & he clings to me as we appraoch the door- He sticks by my side for maybe ten minutes as he soaks in the scene and then he finds a friend, and off he goes!
Kaelyn isn’t all that clingy. She’s a lot like Laura describes Jonah – a little hesitant and shy at the beginning of a new social situation, but then she warms up and she’s off and running. Alex had a much milder case of reflux than Kaelyn, but she’s showing signs of being a much clingier child.
Bryce is actually my least clingy child. He could care less who he goes with or who’s holding him. My other boys always had a hard time going to nursery at church (Parker still does sometimes) but Bryce goes no problem. I wonder sometimes if it’s because he was in the hospital so much at first. He’s hasn’t been very cuddly either, although that’s improved a bit lately.
I wonder if it has something to do with being a SAHM. Lots of my SAHM friends say that their kids are more clingy then their friends’ children who are in daycare.
Myles isn’t really clingy at home but he follows me around the house like my shadow. When were are out he clings to me until he’s been to a certain place enough times to feel comfortable and he’s sure I’m not leaving.
