My DD’s skin has always broken out due to the spit up on her face. Washing it with soap and water usually did the trick. This week, though, it’s not helping and her skin is very dry and bumpy. Any suggestions out there how to help her skin? She doesn’t seemed fazed by it, but I don’t want it to get worse.
We usually use aquaphor, but occasionally there is alittle yeast and we have to use nystatin powder which usually clears it up in a day or so. You need a prescription for the nystatin, but I don’t think it is expensive at all.
A very mild cortisone cream to get rid of it and once gone a barrier cream to keep it at bay (maybe vaseline or something else). Thats how we have to approach the spit rash anyhow. Nothing else works for us.
Just a thought: We had Gabby to the pedi yesterday and she has a rash on her cheeks. Doc thinks it’s from more use of sun block. She just told me to wash it off when she’s done being outside with soap and water. But I ditto the aqauphor for true scaley, itchy rashes.
