Hi
My 8 month old daughter has been on neocate- infant up until now?She is doing well but hungry! my pead recommend we change her to the next one up. Which is what? we buy it off ebay and have it posted to South Africa. and what he showed me in file isn’t on the neocate website or ebay. i’m very confused. What is Junior for? From what age can you take it. And is that the blue tin. And is one plus for over a year only. can you take it before a year. What is a good price for Neocate Junior and how many 200ml bottles does one tin do? And i read on your site bout it being heavy in fats is that a bad thing?July 25, 2007 at 3:51 pm #39857AnonymousInactiveHi,
I Dont know tooo much about here.. but here is what i know. It is like the neocate formula for over 1 yr olds. I think its a blue tin. .. i found it on ebay when i was looking it up once. The thing I am not sure about is if neocate 1 + would be better for her. I have yet to find that out. But being high in fats isnt a bad thing.. its rather good , expecially for babies that are gett most of their fats from formula.July 25, 2007 at 3:55 pm #39858AnonymousInactiveThanks. I’ve just found the SHS webste and they have a thing called neocate advance. UK packages their stuff differently to the states I think.
I hink it is the one my doctor recommended. I emailed SHS nutritionalist. Hopefully they’ll know!!I also realised you can keep a baby on neocate inant until one and just increase scoops. I just assumed I’d have to change formula.Sounds silly but she was really hungry!July 27, 2007 at 9:24 am #39953AnonymousInactiveHi there,
this is our experince with Neoacte Jr and Noeacte 1+.Noeacte JR was very hard on my dd stomach, she threw a lot while on it. It just have too much fat in it for her little body to digest. Also neoacte jr uses a lot less water for preparation than Neoacte 1+ and my dd’s diapers weren’t very wet, unless i added water in between feedings. Noecate 1 + on the other hand has been great for her. The calories comes mostly from carbohydrates and not from fat. She is not longer throwing up and is tolerating it really well for day and night feedings (she used to cry at night while on neoacte jr). It also takes more water to prepare (5 ounces more) giving my dd more wet diapers w/o giving her extra water. They both have the same amount of calories per ounce (30C). I would try the neoacte 1 + first, then the Jr. My dd started the transition form N infant at 11 months old.You might want to make the transition really slow. Mix it to make 22 calories, then 24 and so on. i can help you figure out the calorie mixing as i have been mixing for quiet sometme now (please also check with your doctor as well). My dd can only tolerate 24 clsories right now. we are increasing it on a week basis as she has a sensitive stomach. I hope this help. -
