Hi All!
I haven’t posted in a few days… Amelia is still spitting up a little bit of yellow. It is now mixed with milk, so it’s kind of a light yellow as opposed to the florescent yellow last week (which is most likely bile). She is having an Upper GI on Thursday. I have read that a milk scan can give the same results without doing an x-ray. Anyone’s lo had one?
I am worried. So much on the internet says to call the doctor immediately if there is yellow or green in their spit up. Some sites just say green, and I have called both my Pediatrician and the Pediatric Gastroenterologist (both of them recommended Amelia be taken off of Prevacid, which worsened her condition ), so I guess I am not thrilled with either one of them right now. It was their nurses that I had spoken with, and one said that of course they will spit up bile if there is nothing else in their stomach. Again, I am just not sure what I think of that. Most web info says that spitting up bile suggests a bowel or intestinal obstruction.
To make matters worse, Amelia is night waking. She got up at 2 last night and aside from about 40 minutes that she fell asleep, she was up until 5:30. I didn’t sleep at all because she was playing and cooing, and I just could hear her in the monitor. She also rolled over onto her tummy, and I couldn’t sleep thinking about SIDS. I have decided, however, to put her to sleep on her tummy for naps. She does so much better!
I would love any feedback on the milk scan and if anyone else’s lo has spit up yellow.
Thanks!

empty stomach. He had an upper GI to see if he had Piloric Stenosis, which
he didn’t. But after swallowing the Barium (chalky liquid) they saw that he
did in fact have reflux WELL NO he has reflux! I hope everything
goes well for you because in my case it went well. Reflux isn’t as bad as
other things that were mentioned…….

My hopes are that they will do the same and just confirm the reflux and nothing more. There are so many others on this site that are enduring such monumental complications.
As someone else commented, great pics! Thanks for your reply!

this site is so nice.
yes, good choice. it’d just like tv. there is so many bad things because it’s
what people like to see and thrive on. there just isn’t a lot of interest in
good things happening. so on the internet, there is just an over
abundance of terrible possibilites that fill your head with worry.
is she gaining weight and looks healthy?
i also let van sleep on his tummy during the day and back at night. my
pedi told me it was perfectly fine as long as you can see if he/she is
breathing. that way if he/she stops, you can rouse her/him up. it prevents
flat spots and van seems to enjoy his tummy sleep
