Makes me wonder about a food reaction though… I know you’ve said it has been for two weeks, but she could still be reacting if you are still giving her the offending food. Did you start anything new around that time that you are still giving her?
May 31, 2007 at 3:08 pm #35143AnonymousInactiveyes this is why we had to do tums instead of mylanta with the zegerid.
May 31, 2007 at 3:45 pm #35158AnonymousInactiveShe has had a few new things but not constant. The only constant is the mylanta. Its got to be the mylanta. How do I administer tums?
May 31, 2007 at 6:19 pm #35176AnonymousInactiveWhen Caden was on Prevacid he had many big, blow out diapers and LOTS of gas. My pediatrician said it wasn’t due to the Prevacid, but I find it suspicious since it went away after we took him off Prevacid. I have since read that some babies don’t react well to it and have stomach issues (gas, etc.) with it. I hate to say that, because I’m sure you are sick of hearing contradicting things about these meds, but for us, the Prevacid really made Caden uncomfortable. I just wanted to let you know that.
For Brielle, that may not be the issue at all. I just thought I’d mention it. Good luck!

shes on zegerid though….plus prevacid is known to constipate. and its the solutabs that contain lactose and aspartame that upset babies tummies-not the actual prevacid, well that i know of anyway.
anyway, my son became very gassy and had diarhea all the time from mixing the mylanta with the zegerid. so dr phillips suggested the tums dissolvables. we dissolved them in like a teaspoon of water and gave that instead of the mylanta. the regular fruit flavor contains milk, if you peel back the ingredients list you will see this. i wasnt aware of this until later. i *think* the tropical fruit kind is milk free. but peel back the labels to make sure if she is intolerant to milk.
May 31, 2007 at 8:13 pm #35185AnonymousInactiveShe is back on Prevcid Solutabs because we couldnt get the insurance to pick up the bill on the Zegerid. So she gets 7.5 ml of Prevacid solu 3x per day and 2ml of mylanta before each nap and bed time.
Ill just call her ped and ask him what to do.

oh i didnt know im sorry!
btw, you can still give tums instead of mylanta. that way youll know whether it was the mylanta bothering her or the solutab, know what i mean?
