Does anyone have any experience with the bumbo chair. We got one for Cooper a few weeks ago and I haven’t put him in it now for about a week, but before everytime I would he didn’t really seem to like it and he would spit up huge amounts. I got it b/c I read that it helped with reflux babies. Has anyone had any success? Do you think he is too young for it? He can hold his head up really well, but maybe he doesn’t have enough trunk control? I am just at a loss of how to keep him upright, oddly enough he really loves to be in the floor, usually flat on his back which I know isn’t common in refluxers, and I hate to do that right after he has eaten so I need to find a way to keep him upright after feeds… does anyone have any other suggestions other than the bumbo chair? Thanks.

We used the bouncy chair w/o vibration after feeds, for 15 minutes, to help lessen throw up. With our first, we actually put him in the swing after eating, and he would relax there for 15 minutes. The 2nd hated the swing! Good luck.
BTW, we borrowed a bouncy chair by Baby Bjorn, that was fabulous. Just material and some wooden bears. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available to borrow for our 2nd. We loved it so much, we bit the bullet ($100) and bought it. It’s been our savior, b/c our 2nd weighed 24 lbs b4 he was 8 months old and most bouncy chairs only support up to 24 lbs.

We would always put Bryce in his infant carseat after he ate to keep him upright, and that worked really well for us. He was upright enough, but it didn’t scrunch his tummy.

A baby einstein video would keep him still, upright and happy for a good 20 minutes or so after a feed…
May 22, 2007 at 1:09 pm #34102AnonymousInactiveWe did what Ann Marie did with the exersaucer/towels. Carson loved to be UP and this worked for us. We never did find a good bouncy chair/bumbo that worked for us!
