I live in CT also, where are you from? There are a few of us that I know of on here from CT. Brodie went to the CT Children’s Medical Center. We saw one of the nurse practioners, but initially saw Dr. Repucci (spelling) There was such a long waiting list, they added nurse practiioners so children could be seen. I think they were okay, I would call in tears when Brodie refused to eat, and she would listen, but I sometimes felt that they didn’t really understand because he always gained pretty well, but they didn’t comprehend the hoops we had to jump through to get him to gain. Anyhow, I know Ann Marie (monty 123) goes to Yale and she is happy with her doctors. Maybe she will chime in! Anyway, please feel free to ask other questions!

BUT, the reason why i say they are o.k is because they do dosage on the low side. Not as low as our regular ped. but lower than others on this board have recieved. But they do listen to you and call you back right away which really means a lot to me. If you live in this area i would happy to answer any other questions as well .

We use Dr. Sandra Escalera in North Haven (we live in Chester). She is a GREAT GI associated with Yale. She is willling to go higher on meds when needed, but she likes to start lower first. Personally, this was an approach I was comfortable with because even though the PPI’s don’t cross the blood barrier, I still did not want to give my child more meds than necessary.
She is a mom as well to young children, so she gets it as a mom and a Doctor. I really like and respect her. When Carter was showing signs in the hospital of reflux, she called in the prescription over the phone before she had even seen us so that we could have done a trial on that dose so we knew if that was helping or not prior to our first appointment. She was also the GI for my first son, and was willing to advise my ped on Prevacid and dosing for him prior to seeing her as well as the wait was a little long and she didn’t want to have him suffer prior to getting to see her.
Anyway, if you want more information, please feel free to e-mail me at monty 123 @ sbc global . net (no spaces).
Good Luck!
Ann Marie

We didn’t like him, but that was because I think the office mixed up Dylan’s chart with someone else. When I told him we were going to a new GI, and asked for Dylan’s medical records, he refused to give them to me. I asked our lawyer to write him a strong letter reminding him of the law, he basically told her if I wanted the records, I would have to sue him for them. I was more interested in helping Dylan so I never went after him.
I did, however, get his name from another woman here who did like him very much and he willingly upped the dose of meds for her child. I think he just starts low, like most, and then will up if needed….
