i know the capusles are supposed to be mixed with applesauce…but i dont know about the packets… but just to clarify…you cant give either with food. like, with the capsules, you have to give them on an empty stomach….with only a tablespoon of applesauce (something acidic to activate the medication), and then a full meal 30-60 min later. and with the packets you also have to give them on an empty stomach followed with a full meal 30-60 min later. nataliachick72007-4-14 9:45:41

yep, we do the capsules and mix it with applesauce. i dont think you can do that with the packets. but you could always ask your doctor to call in a new script for capsules.

its always been hard to hold shane off after giving the meds for 30 min. but with the applesauce its easier because i’ve noticed that when shane starts to get a little cranky (like he knows its time to eat soon) i’ll give him a bit of applesauce with the prevacid mixed in..and he is happy after that and could wait a little longer.. like he knows he just had a little snack.
