I just found out that Kayleigh quailified for a pre-authorized co-pay for her Zegerid! Which means instead of paying $195 for 3months I pay $40! After my great 30 dollar coupon that leaves 10 bucks! I was floating on air today!
I was thinking of getting her nurse who had to fax all the required paperwork to the insurance carrier and fill out their forms a box of candy or a bouquet of flowers! Or both! So this is a Hooray but also maybe a FYI for others. According to my insurance Zegerid was on the non-prefered, no generic, very expensive co-pay plan but because we can show that she failed 2 other drugs for the same condition the are changing it to the middle tier of our plan. It may be of help if there are others with insurance battles.

We had this same thing happen!!!! Our pharmacist actually made a wonderful phone call to our insurance explaining that other medicines didn’t work…so we also pay $10! I thank him everytime I go pick up her medicine. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that this has happened to you too!
I can do you one better though…my doctor messed up the last time she refilled Sarah’s prescription and has Sarah taking 60mg of Zegerid per day, instead of 36mg. That means 3 – 20mg packets per day! Sheesh! I didn’t realize it and went to pick up my prescription like normal and they handed me THREE boxes of 20mg packets of Zegerid…all for just $10! They said they filled it as ordered…and not to worry about it. This has happened the last two times I’ve gotten her meds.
Don’t you love when the Dr.’s errors are in OUR favor for once.
