since feeding my celiac children now involves reading EVERY label EVERY time we shop, i thought i would pass on some info about the new labeling laws for the parents of children with food allergies. the 2006 labeling laws require food manufacturers to list on their label if they contain any of the top 8 allergens—wheat, dairy, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, eggs, and shellfish. hopefull this will be alot of help to all of us. keep in mind, though, depending on the shelf life, and how quickly a product moves, there may still be items on the shelf with old labels. kevieb2006-1-28 19:9:18
