I just wanted to let you guys (my extended family) know that my aunt and I are making and selling custom weighted blankets. We made a couple for Samantha and she loves them. They are reccomended for children with sensory integration problems, autism, ADD/HD, sleep disturbances, and other problems. The ones that we are making, the weights are in a pad that snaps in (with onsie like snaps) like a duvet. That way you can take it out and wash the blanket and if they dont want or need the weight at that time, they dont have to have it and you still have a very nice blanket. sounds fantastic!
it seems so ‘natural’ to me-
I used to pile beanie babies and various other heavy stuffed animals on jonah for the weight-
I just thought it would have him feel like I was near him, with my hand on him- or it might feel like co-sleeping (which we never did)- with my arm on him or something…
I believe it did help…who knows? (for those that don’t know, he was a TERRIBLE napper and I tried everything- including trying to strategically place stuffed animals on him)
I know I like a blanket on me, even in the heat – must be the weight…

What a great idea! I’ll have to keep you in mind if baby #2 has the same sleep issues as Kaelyn did.
