Justice’s mom, night terrors (from our experience anyway), are when they seem to “wake up” but are really still asleep. They can sit up, thrash around, kick and cry out hysterically. You can talk to them but they aren’t aware you are there and you aren’t suppossed to touch them or console them because it just makes it worse and prolongs the episode (found that out the hard way!) They usually don’t last long but are a horrible thing to watch. They usually happen if they get overstimulated or tired.
Lori, that is a great idea about switching when we give the higher dose. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that! I guess I just thought he would get more benefit getting the larger dose at bedtime since that’s when the reflux is at its worse.
Laura, we were giving a 1/2 of a smooth dissolve tums right before bed before we increased the Prevacid. It seemed to really help. I think I will try swapping the doses like Lori said and go back to this regimen..
Thanks and keep your fingers crossed for us!!
