Another Good Report!

We are on day 11 of 30mg Prevacid, and Caden is doing great I took my almost 3 year old and Caden to the mall yesterday for a playdate with our playgroup (which I’ve avoided since Caden’s birth), and Caden was the “model baby”. He sat in my lap watching the children for 45 minutes without a fuss. Then, he fussed a little, so I nursed him. After that he fell asleep and slept in my sling for an hour! Believe me – he has never done that! He’s a different baby. I’m still a little afraid that he will suddenly turn back into that screaming, colicky baby again, and I won’t know what to do since he’s on a high dose of the medicine already, but I’m hopeful that this is the answer

Also, his bm yesterday hardly had any mucous, so I’m hopeful that rice was the problem. We’ll see after a few more days, and then I’ll start reintroducing foods every 4 days. I’m following TED very strictly. I know we may not be done with all of this yet, but I just want to say THANK YOU!!! to all of you who gave me these suggestions and shared your personal experiences. This site is truly the best!

One more thing I’m doing that was suggested by someone here is to nurse on one side only for at least 4 hours (I way overproduce), and this has cut down tremendously on his gassiness. So, who knows, maybe the reflux will improve with that change too.
