Hi everyone,
I just found this site and am hoping someone will have either experienced this with their baby or have an idea of what’s causing it. My son, 11 weeks, has been having mucous in his stool for several weeks now. He has also been fussy again even though he’s on Prevacid for reflux. He is strictly breastfed, and his stool still appears yellow and seedy but now with mucous. Everything I’ve found about mucousy stool on the internet talks about foremilk/hindmilk imbalance and green colored stool w/ mucous. Well, his is not green, and I already know about nursing on one side only, etc. if you produce a lot of milk to avoid that imbalance. Does this sound like a sensitivity to something I’m eating? I’m trying the Dr. Sears elimination diet today and for the next 2 weeks to see if I can determine if that is causing it. Any ideas on what else it could be and whether that is contributing to his fussiness or if the fussiness is most likely just related to reflux?
Thanks so much,
Emily
