Tuesday night
after 2 days of Hunter being VERY irritable and not wanting to be held,
and also sleeping a LOT more during the day (basically looking
exhausted after a 20-30 minute screaming fit), we decided to take him
to the ER to just make sure everything was ok. We waited a
couple of hours and finally got to see a doctor and he checked him
out.
He said physically everything looked ok, but he was
concerned about what looked like a rash on his leg. The doctor
suspected a viral or bacterial infection and maybe even meningitis.
They then did blood work (had to stick him 4 times with a needle to get
a vein to IV), a spinal tap, and a cathader and luckily we found out he
was ok after all that. We were at the hospital for about 7 and a half
hours and it was pure misery having to keep waking Hunter up to stick
more needles in him. I am just very overjoyed that he is ok.
Yesterday Hunter pretty much vomited every 45 minutes till 2am. We saw the pedi today and she agreed its a stomach bug. Hunter has only vomited once today but hes sooooooooooo sleepy and when hes awake hes very whiney (not that I can blame him). Hes holding down his Pedilite ok now THANK goodness. Pedi told us to go to the ER if he gets excessively fussy (more fussy than the usual refluxer I have??) or vomits again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE no more ER this week.
