maybe it’s silent reflux? maybe it’s mspi? ah, it’s so hard to sort these little ones out
…jonah never spit up, as he had silent reflux. he gained weight just fine; in fact he was a bit of a comfort feeder, meaning that the act of eating soothed him (his throat, etc)
there are many parents who report that their silent refluxer turned to being a spiiter once they were on a PPI. Is your baby on a PPI? maybe this is what’s happening?
as for being mspi- there’s a a great explanation and a list of symptoms found on page 2 of the ‘main’ mspi page- it’s stickied (made to stay the top post) in the MSPI Forum
to answer your question, yes I believe a baby can gain weight & be mspi…
what are her symptoms? is she in pain from the spit up? can you hear her refluxing & is there pain from it? hearing can sound like gulping or an ‘internal hiccup’
I always said it sounded like a ‘glerp’ sound with jonah- sometmes it’d be loud and almost harsh sounding inside his poor belly/throat, like a ‘glerk’
