okkkk….so the first round of shots still didn’t clear up AIdan’s ear infections very well, they were better, but he still had to get the second set of shots, SO since every antibiotic known to MAN hasn’t worked for him, we are going to the ENT the 30th for an evaluation, and hopefully tubes. I say hopefully because I’d rather him have the tubes than the pain of any more persistant infections, and the muffled hearing and speech delays, etc.
October 27, 2006 at 1:40 pm #16686AnonymousInactivePoor little guy. I’d definitely want tubes at this point, too. I hope his appt goes well, and his infections finally clear up. I feel so bad for him.
October 27, 2006 at 2:28 pm #16689AnonymousInactiveThat’s awesome you got in so fast!! I hope it goes great!!
October 27, 2006 at 3:32 pm #16690AnonymousInactiveThat’s awful, Jill! We’ve got an ear infection over here too, and it’s not fun. I hope that this one clears up for him soon and that he gets some relief with the tubes.
October 27, 2006 at 3:35 pm #16691AnonymousInactiveI know right? I was expecting a wait of at least a few weeks, but I guess maybe there was a cancellation? or since we live so close to atlanta there are might be a bunch of pediatric ent’s, and luckily this one still takes medicaid, my older son went there this summer for a sinus cat scan.
Thanks Christine, I’m just glad all this happened when he was so little as opossed to closer to the point of where it would affect his speech!! How’s Myles doing btw??
October 27, 2006 at 5:10 pm #16696AnonymousInactiveHi Jill,
Thanks for asking….Myles is doing well. He’s drinking water from a straw cup (a BIG development for him), and he’s finally trying some table food. He’s still living on purees but at least he’s experimenting and putting some foods into his mouth. He spits most things out, but he rarely gags anymore (another really BIG development). He likes bread, cheerios, puffs, and crackers (figures) but not much else yet. He’s saying a few words, but not walking yet. Thanks again for asking.
I hope Aidan’s feeling better soon. And yes, it’s great to be cathing this early so his speech isn’t effected. Keep us updated.
October 27, 2006 at 6:48 pm #16697AnonymousInactivethose puff things are gold!! I bought some at target today and Aidan almost launched himself out of the cart when he saw them on the belt when we went to checkout!!! (actually I find myself popping a handful of cherry ones every once in a while lol). Awesome news about the straw, Austin never did sippy cups, he only drank out of straws!!! And good to hear he has quit gagging!! deffinitly going in the right direction!!!!! Aidan wishes he could talk, all he does is point and say DAT and get VERY ticked off when we have no clue what he is pointing at (I’ve probably told him “car” when he was pointing at a bird or something!!)
October 27, 2006 at 8:51 pm #16702AnonymousInactiveEllie use to yell, DAT, DAT, DAT when she was having a tizzy/tantrum and wanted something she couldn’t have. I still laugh when I think about it now. That’s so funny about him almost launching himself out of the cart to get his puffs!! LOL!
November 27, 2006 at 2:05 pm #19053AnonymousInactiveWE HAVE TUBE CLEARANCE-lol he’s having them put in December 13th. I’m so glad, he might still get infections but at least it will decrease the standing fluid, that’s my main concern.I’m horrible, didn’t even ask any ?’s I just said yep go ahead soon as possible put those tubes in (he has pre-op on the 11th so I figure I can ask away then).!!!!!!!
November 27, 2006 at 3:20 pm #19058AnonymousInactiveThat’s great news! Hope it gives him some relief. (And the 13th is a lucky day… my b-day- haha). Keep us posted.
November 27, 2006 at 4:57 pm #19067AnonymousInactiveGood news! I hope the procedure goes well and he’s done with all these infections and fluid. That’s great that it will be done before Christmas.
November 27, 2006 at 5:20 pm #19074AnonymousInactiveAwesome news! I hope this is the solution for him & gives him some relief.
