i KNOW U R AL GONNA HATE ME FOR ASKING THIS QUESTION, BUT HERE GOES ANYWAY!! fOR THE LAST 2 DAYS MY DAUGHTER (6 MONTHS) HAS BEEN SLEEPING AN AWFUL LOT! (WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNLIKE HER). yESTERDAY SHE WAS ONLY UP FOR AN HOUR EACH TIME SHE WOKE (DURING THE DAY) AND THEN WAS GOING BACK TO SLEEP FOR 2 HOURS! SHE THEN SLEPT ALL NIGHT! (FROM 8PM TO 6AM) SHE DOESN’T HAVE A TEMPERATURE AND IS OT DISPLAYING ANY OTHER SYMPTOMS. SHOULD I BE WORRIED OR IS SHE JUST TRYING TO CATCH UP ON NOT SLEEPING FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS? HAS ANYBODY ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS? I’M WORRIED! PLEASE HELP!
January 27, 2006 at 8:13 am #155hellbenntKeymastermight just be catching up on sleep, might be a growth spurt, might be something else? Just monitor it, I’d say…
ps: please put your name & your GERDling’s name, d.o.b., medicines, formula/breastfeeding, MSPI, diagnosed DGE, etc, in your signatures- it’s so hard to keep track of all these little ones!

Thanks hellbennt! have redone my profile! while we r here i just wanted 2 ask your advice on something! since eden was 3 weeks old she seems 2 have been terrified of everyone (except me of course) it was only a month ago that she started letting her dad hold her! when anyone speaks to her or looks like they are going to take her, she screams blue murder!! do u think this is just her personality or something to do with the reflux?!
January 27, 2006 at 10:18 am #166AnonymousInactiveMy daughter used to do this as well, and still does to some extent. She would not let anyone hold her from about 3-5/6 months old- including my husband!!! No one could look at her… if they did, she would scream and go absolutely nuts, and puke all over me and everything else. I don’t think that it has to do with reflux. Some refluxers are more tense because of their physical symptoms, but really I think it’s just personality. My daughter still doesn’t like it if strangers look at her too much, and if they try to hold her she goes crazy. But on the bright side, she now loves my husband, and it takes more to set her off than it used to.
As for your question about sleep, I really can’t comment. We still don’t get much around here- none during the day in fact, and if we did, I certainly wouldn’t post about it in the BOO HOO section!
(BTW, Sorry if that came across as a bit sarcastic…It’s just my extreme jealousy talking. I personally wouldn’t worry about it too much if she otherwise seems herself.)

January 27, 2006 at 7:47 pm #206AnonymousInactiveI’m jealous too!!!!! I would bet it’s just a growth spurt but I’d
keep an eye on it. We might get two decent naps a day but then
we’re up every three to four hours at night. Sorry I can’t be of more help!January 27, 2006 at 8:16 pm #208hellbenntKeymasterumm…maybe it’s personality? maybe she’s ‘just’ a ‘high needs baby’ which oftentimes seems to go along w/ being a GERDling… http://www.askdrsears.com/html/5/T050400.asp Dr. Sears even suggests babywearing…
I’d look into babywearing- there are a few of you in the UK! click on United Kingdom here: http://www.wearyourbaby.com/Default.aspx?tabid=87#United%20K ingdom & there’s probably more over at http://www.thebabywearer.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=44 you have to sign up, but it’s free…
January 27, 2006 at 9:33 pm #211AnonymousInactiveI just posted this exact same question under the sleeping forum titled “Sleeping too much”. My baby is one month older than yours and is doing the exact same thing. Read my post. It does seem excessive to me too.
